Report on National Level Student Paper Presentation & Project Exhibition (N3PE-2019)

Department of Mechanical Engineering at AMC Engineering College organized National Level Student technical paper presentation and Project exhibition. The event was held for two days from 16/05/2019 (Thursday) to 17/05/2019 (Friday).

The objective of N3PE-2019 was to provide a common platform for Postgraduate and Undergraduate students to present and share their research works and ideas in the field of Engineering. The platform also provided an opportunity for the Engineering fraternity at large to keep in touch with the happenings and advances in Engineering Technology.

Day 1 Technical paper presentation 16/05/2019.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. S.G. Srikanteswara Swamy, Former executive Secretary, Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology and the present head & consultant, Vision Group of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, in the presence of Dr.A.G.Nataraj, Principal AMCEC, Dr.T.N.Sreenivasa, CEO AMC Institutions, Dr.A.K.Murthy Dean Academics, Dr.Girisha C. Professor and Head of Mechanical, other heads of AMCEC, faculties and student participants. Proceeding of N3PE-2019 and Departmental Newsletter DynaMech 2018-19 was released during the inauguration function. Chief guests of the function highlighted the opportunities open for the budding engineers.

The event has received overwhelming response from both UG and PG students and researchers from all over country. Technical Session on paper presentation was held under different streams of Thermal, Non Thermal (Design, Production, Manufacturing etc.) and Interdisciplinary/ Circuit subjects (CS/IS/EC/EEE/Civil). Abstracts of selected technical papers were published in the form proceedings which included 65 papers on mechanical stream, 23 papers from other branches of engineering.

Paper presentation on Mechanical stream was chaired by Dr. Seenappa, Professor from Govt.Engineering College Ramanagara. Other jury members included Dr.Sreenivasa, Dr.Solaimutthu, Prof.Shaik Nassir, Prof. Mukesh, Prof.Nagaraj, Prof.Premkumar Naik. Around 77 technical papers were presented in the mechanical stream. Presentation was held at seminar halls of Mechanical and Civil department.The juries recommended following technical papers for the award of Best paper presentation.

Paper presentation for interdisciplinary branches was conducted in Room No.222, Edusat. Room of the main block, AMC Engineering. Out of 26 registrations, 18 team members have given technical paper presentation. The session was chaired by Dr.Jagadeesh, professor at APS Engineering College and Prof. Gangadhar Sharma, professor from Mechanical Department AMCEC, supported by Prof.Shanthala, Prof. Geetha, Prof.Rani and Prof. Vinod naik.

2 Circuit/Interdisciplinary Stream
Autonetic Grub, Presented by Rajesheswari, Poojitha Patil, Navy, Shruthi H.K. students of AMCEC.

  • Experimental Investigation on 4 stroke single cylinder compression ignition engine using fish oil blends with diesel, Presented by Chethan H, BGSIT Mandya.
  • Design and development of smart irrigation system, Presented by Bharath and team, AMCEC.
  • Design and Fabrication of Biometric based ration vending machine, Presented by Manjunath and team, AMCEC.

  • 2 Circuit/Interdisciplinary Stream
  • Powerline Monitoring and Maintenance Robot, Presented by Ankita Das, Chandan B.M., Chaya Kiran C.R., Prasad M.S. students of SJBIT-Bangalore.
  • Day 2 Project Exhibition on 17/05/2019.

    The event was inaugurated by Shri. Sudeshna Trilok, Project Engineer & Entrepreneur in the presence of Dr.A.G.Nataraj, Principal, Dr.A.K.Murthy Dean Academics, Dr.Girisha C. Professor and Head of Mechanical, other heads of AMCEC, faculties and student participants.

    The event has received good response from students and researchers from all over country. Out of 100 registrations, 63 projects were exhibited and evaluated by expert members Shri Sudeshna Trilok, Dr. A.K.Murthy, Prof.Gangadhar Sharma, Dr.Sreenivas and Dr.Solaimuttu.

    Projects exhibited were relevant to the recent advances in the engineering discipline having impact on the society at large. Projects scattered to a range of subjects design, manufacturing, thermal, composites, smart systems, automation, finite element methods.

  • Portable Mechanical Power kit, presented by Varun R. KSIT Bangalore
  • Design and Fabrication of a Paddy Thresher,Presented by Nitesh Kumar B.M.,Pavan Kumar P.,Prashanth P.,Rakshan Rai , AMCEC Bangalore.
  • Design and Fabrication of mini plough and Rotavator for removing weeds in sugarcane Presented by Naveen Kumar, Monith Kumar MP, Mahesh AMCEC Bangalore.

  • All the winners were given the certificate of appreciation and prize money of 15000/- shared among the winners. N3PE-2019 was successful by the active involvement of both faculty and students who worked in various committees of reception / registration, hospitality, stage, finance, food under the leadership of Dr.Girisha HOD and Dr.A.K.Murthy, Dean of Academics AMCEC.
